Antonio Conte is usually the sort of manager who makes drastic changes to sides, whenever he joins new clubs. He demands the world and if he doesn’t get it then drama is usually on the way.
Corriere dello Sport report today that there are now big doubts about the future of Alex Meret at Napoli and he could depart the Partenopei in the summer.
Because of that possibility, Napoli are probing the market for a new goalkeeper.
Chelsea’s Kepa is someone they are ‘evaluating’ as a potential target and is a player that the Naples-based club tried to sign in the summer of 2022.
He currently earns €6m per season at Chelsea, who have too many goalkeepers in their current squad. The possibility of signing the Spaniard by having wages spread out could become a ‘chance’ for Napoli, the report states.
That would involve him getting a longer contract.
No contact has been made with his entourage or with Chelsea, but the club is considering whether to bring him to the Maradona or not.
Whether he would be the outright first choice or he would rotate with Meret remains to be seen.
