A Watford defender is one of the players ‘discussed as possibilities’ by PSV Eindhoven as they look to bolster their defence this month.

That’s according to Eindhoven Dagblad, who don’t offer the name of that defender in their coverage today.

The newspaper states that the Dutch club are relying on their current core group of players, and there is no sign of a quick reinforcement arriving this month.

It’s an issue that is being ‘investigated’ by the club, though, and they have been ‘offered a number of players’ and made ‘a lot on enquiries’ to solve the issue.

There is no ‘serious option’ that is being discussed ‘intensively’ at this moment in time, but players from Vitesse and a defender from Watford have been ‘discussed as possibilities’.

The newspaper doesn’t name the player, but PSV are looking at a ‘rental option’ in any potential deal should they pursue it this month.

The obvious target would be Christian Kabasele, given he hasn’t featured in the Premier League since October 2nd, and that seems unlikely to change any time soon, particularly after the arrival of Nicolas N’Koulou.

Whether it is him remains to be seen, but someone at Watford is being discussed by PSV at this moment in time regardless, so this is a potential deal to keep an eye on.
