According to Takvim, Fenerbahce are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon in this transfer window.

The player looks set to leave West Brom due to his situation with the Baggies. Rondon can exit the club for a cut price £16.5m after West Brom failed to get promotion back to the Premier League.

It’s reported Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli will meet with Rondon’s agent Juan Rodriguez, and present the club’s offer. Takvim claims he’s already had some good offers from other clubs and will now consider his future.

Fener are in the market for a No.9 in this transfer window following their problems in the attacking positions last season. Tottenham Hotspur’s Vincent Janssen has also been linked with the Yellow Canaries.

However, signing the 29-year-old would be complicated for the Super Lig side, as Newcastle United are also looking to do a deal.

Rondon spent last season on loan at Newcastle, where he impressed for the Magpies, scoring 11 goals for Rafael Benitez’s side.

It’s very unlikely Fener could provide serious competition to Newcastle financially.
