RB Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell has revealed they are yet to hold talks with Leicester City regarding loanee Ademola Lookman.
The forward joined Brendan Rodgers’ side on loan until the end of the season in the summer following a successful spell with Fulham last season.
He’s featured regularly for Leicester since, with 14 Premier League games to his name as well as four in the Europa League, two in the Carabao Cup and one in the FA Cup.
A tally of three assists and five goals is a decent return for the 24-year-old, too, and there have been suggestions Leicester will look to make the move a permanent one come the summer.
They have an option to do so in his current loan deal, although the figures involved in that have never been officially made clear.
And it seems Leicester are yet to fully explore the idea either, with Vivell revealing they are yet to make contact with them regarding Lookman.
“We see that he plays, again and again, he has good appearances. But there is no contact with the loan club,” he told Sky Sports Germany.
That would suggest Leicester are exploring their options before making a decision on Lookman’s future.
He’s featured in 59% of their starting eleven’s in the Premier League this season and managed 58% of the available minutes, so he’s clearly a player Brendan Rodgers likes.
Whether that’s enough to convince him to spend part of his summer budget on him is up for debate, though, and Lookman clearly has work to do to change that in the coming months.
