In a short story with no huge claims, Portuguese newspaper A Bola has an update on the situation of Sporting’s negotiations with Manchester City for the transfer of Bruno Fernandes.
According to the outlet, the Lions’ director Hugo Viana is flying to Manchester on Thursday, and is set to meet the Citizens between today and tomorrow to discuss the move.
Manchester City are expected to make a bid for the midfielder, and are said to be willing to pay around €70m for the transfer.
A Bola doesn’t say if that will be enough to take Bruno from Lisbon, although they recall that the player is protected by a €100m release clause.
As we’ve said at the start of the article, this is no big news, since A Bola had reported Viana’s trip to Manchester earlier this week.
But it’s good to see that the outlet is sticking to their story and now confirm that the director has travelled to England.
Now we wait and see if the newspaper will have the outcome of this meeting in the next few days.
