Fanatik claim Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli is eager to sign Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke and he’s hoping he can land him on the cheap before the transfer deadline next month.
The Turkish club are in the market for an experienced striker this summer and they’ve also been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa and many others.
According to Fanatik, Damien Comolli has contacted Benteke’s agent Kısmet Eris, who has Turkish roots, and he’s trying to find a way to sign the Crystal Palace player.
Benteke could reportedly leave the Eagles if a good offer arrives in this window and Fanatik say the Premier League side are hoping someone will pay his €4m a year wages.
Fenerbahce could be the club to help Benteke kick-start his career but the Super Lig side feel they’ll need a detailed medical report for the 28 year old. The Belgian attacker has has struggled with injuries in the past two seasons, so it makes sense to show caution.
Benteke scored just one goal last season and is under contract at Selhurst Park until June 2020.
