It appears that Everton will at least be making a bit of money in the summer from one of their loans.

That will come from Niels Nkounkou, currently at Saint-Etienne in Ligue 2, after his initial deal with Cardiff was cut short in January.

L’Equipe are the ones reporting it amid an article about a potential purchase of the famous French club, explaining how their finances could look going forward.

Looking at some of the deals Saint-Etienne could pull off in the summer, they focus on Nkounkou, who has been a huge hit since arriving from Everton.

The left-back as found himself making headlines left, right and centre with his performances, which has led to speculation the small option to buy in the deal will be triggered.

That, according to L’Equipe, will be the case, as they explain that the idea is to buy him and ‘immediately sell’ him again off the back of the purchase.

That should allow them to make a few million, which is the aim, in turn giving Everton a bit of capital from a transfer that once looked like a bad deal even if the initial expenditure was relatively small back when Carlo Ancelotti was still in charge.
