Earlier on Friday, we covered the latest regarding Milan’s interest in Achraf Lazaar, who remains contracted to Newcastle United.

The Morocco international hasn’t played at St James’ Park for a long time, yet remains tied until the summer, leaving the Serie A side, in need of a left-back, waiting for him to sort his situation out.

Lazaar was said to have asked Newcastle to allow him to cancel his contract, and he was yet to hear a reply, leaving Milan with little choice but to consider alternatives.

Among those happens to be making a bid for the player in hope of the Magpies accepting it because ‘the English team for now doesn’t seem willing to free the full-back’.

That’s according to Il Milanista, who add that due to this, Milan ‘could decide to move and propose an offer’, seeing him as a ‘low cost profile’ to complete the squad at Stefano Pioli’s disposal.

We can only imagine Newcastle being thrilled at the thought of getting money for a player they considered dead weight over a year ago, so you can bet they’d snatch Paolo Maldini’s hand off should a bid be placed on the table.
