Following Everton’s attempt to sign Boulaye Dia from Salernitana in the January transfer window, the Italian side are now said to be thinking of what to do with him in the summer.
Outlet Tutto Salernitana today features a story pointing out that besides his loan from Villarreal, the player can be acquired for €12m at the end of the season.
With Dia having good performances in Italy, that’s good news for Salernitana, because his market value is said to be of ‘at least’ €20m these days.
It’s then mentioned that the player has ‘many admirers in Europe’, including Everton, who ‘had come forward’ to sign him in January, but saw him well protected by his club.
Now Salernitana are set to face a tough decision at the end of the season, as they must choose between buying him and keeping him in the squad or ‘make a substantial capital gain’ by immediately selling him.
With Everton being the only interested club who are actually mentioned in the story, they seem to be those in the front row to attempt such signing in the summer transfer window.
However, with Sean Dyche in charge, perhaps the focus for a new striker next season will head in a different direction.
