Last month, goalkeeper Stefan Ortega hinted at the possibility of a summer exit from Manchester City.

The 32-year-old suggested that ‘anything is possible’, when it comes to his future and he wasn’t sure how things could go in the summer.

It now seems as if the Serie A could become a destination for the German, who has played 11 times in the Premier League for Manchester City this season.

MilanLive have reported he could emerge as a surprise target for AC Milan, who will be hunting for replacements for Mike Maignan in the summer transfer window.

The outlet claim Ortega ‘wants to play consistently’ for the Citizens and could look for a club which could give him more game time.

Pep Guardiola’s side want a fee of around €8m to sell the goalkeeper and Milan are likely to face competition from Bayer Leverkusen, who have already made contact to bring the player back to Germany.

Ortega had arrived at Manchester City on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 after his contract at Arminia Bielefeld had expired.
