Negotiations between Fernando and Galatasaray are set to continue, after reports the Turkish club want the Manchester City player to lower his demands.

Fanatik have reported senior officials at Galatasaray are saying they can’t compete in the league next season with Selcuk İnan and Tolga Cigerci in midfield. Subsequently the club want to sign two new central midfielders, and Fernando is close to becoming one of them.

The 29 year old reportedly wants a salary of €4m per season from Galatasaray, but Fanatik say the Turkish are only prepared to offer €3m.

The initial plan from Galatasaray is to take the Brazilian on loan a deal, with an option to buy. The midfielder was left out of Manchester City’s preseason tour, which’s suggests he doesn’t have a future at the Etihad.

It doesn’t seem like Fernando is in the long term plans of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and the player may have to move on this summer.
