Sdna.Gr claim Olympiacos are still hoping they can extend the contract of Kostas Fortounis, but they are also in the market for a potential replacement if he leaves this summer.
Fortounis has been strongly linked with a move to West Ham United but the Greek giants are hoping to tie down their captain on a new long term deal.
According to Sdna.Gr, Nottingham Forest’s Joao Carvalho is still seen as a possible replacement for Fortounis. It’s also claimed that even if the 26 year old remains at the club, Olympiacos could still make a move for the Portuguese attacking midfielder.
After joining from Benfica last summer, Carvalho has been a regular for Nottingham Forest, but Sdna say he could still leave the Championship club in this window.
Olympiacos officials believe they can’t rely just on Fortonuis for the attacking midfielder role and Carvalho could be a good addition to their squad for next season.
The 22 year old played 38 games in the league for Nottingham Forest during the last campaign, scoring 4 goals. He is under contract with the club until June 2023.
