Trézéguet was not included in Steven Gerrard’s plans at Aston Villa this year and that saw him spend the second half of last season on loan at İstanbul Başakşehir.
During his temporary spell with the Turkish club, he managed six goals and four assists from 13 league matches. His displays have convinced another club from the same league, Trabzonspor, to make an attempt for the 27-year-old this summer.
Earlier this week, Sabah reported that Aston Villa have an agreement in principle with Trabzonspor for the Egypt international’s sale, at a fee of €3.5m.
Fanatik on Saturday state the Süper Lig side ‘continue their negotiations’ with the Aston Villa player.
They are in talks with his agent to discuss personal terms. It’s claimed the Turkish club are looking to offer Trézéguet an annual salary of €2m including bonuses, but the attacker ‘expects a little more’.
In the event Trabzonspor fail to sign Trézéguet in the ongoing window, they will look at Espanyol’s Matías Vargas, who spent the previous campaign on loan at Adana Demirspor.
