Sampdoria ‘continue to dream’ of a move for Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet, but his asking price is proving to be prohibitive.

That’s according to Liguria Notizie, who say the Italian side are keen to continue strengthening their squad this summer.

Praet has been linked with a move away from Leicester this summer after returning from a loan spell at Torino last season.

For the moment he remains a part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans but there is a belief that the Foxes would happily move him on for the right price.

The midfielder has plenty of suitors in Italy after his spell with Torino and his three years at Sampdoria before he joined Leicester in August 2019.

His former club are one of them, according to Liguria Notizie, who state that the management at the club ‘continues to dream’ of re-signing him.

That potential operation is ‘very complicated’, though, due to the Belgian’s cost. The price isn’t explicitly mentioned, just that Leicester are asking for too much at this point.

Because of this Leicester are looking at other options, including Nice’s Mario Lemina and several players in Italy.
