Dying his hair orange and starting his own YouTube reality TV show, Javier Hernandez wasn’t exactly screaming “I’m fully committed to my professional career at West Ham” towards the end of last season.

That’s not to say he isn’t allowed to do those things, far from it, because he is and each to their own, but a loss of prominence at the Hammers (just 14 starts in the Premier League) certainly granted him more free time to focus on extra curricular activities.

With no renewal at London Stadium in sight and one year left on his current deal, talk of an exit this summer has been relatively rife, with Fiorentina adding themselves to the list of potential landing spots for the Mexico international.

Corriere dello Sport were the ones to write about it over the weekend, explaining the Serie A side were ‘looking around the world’ for a new striker after Luis Muriel returned to Sevilla before transferring to Atalanta.

That’s why they’ve flipped through their Rolodex looking at former targets, having already tried to sign Chicharito back in 2015 when the Mexican was leaving Manchester United.

However, it’s worth pointing out there isn’t anything overly concrete in these claims, which simply state he is a name that has been and is being considered.

He’s also never played in Italy, so maybe he’ll want to try that, which could work in Fiorentina’s favour.
