Hertha Berlin are ‘desperately looking for midfielders’ reports Bild, and they’ve got the signing of one already in the process of happening.

Sky Germany journalist Max Bielefeld this morning reported Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is this morning having a medical with the Bundesliga side. Should that go to plan then the Frenchman is set to sign on loan with Hertha for the rest of the current season.

Hertha also have other targets, with one of them being Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko, as explained by Bild, and another Liverpool’s Marko Grujic. Both would be loan deals, with the latter having been at the club before.

There’s no indication whether Guendouzi joining from Arsenal would kill Hertha interest in the Tottenham and Liverpool players, although the insinuation is the German club are looking at multiple targets.

Mario Gotze is also a potential signing, yet his recruitment depends on what Hertha can manage to do elsewhere, and it’s quite possible they’ll wait until after the window has closed.
