AC Milan’s ‘privileged’ relationship with Chelsea could help them get a deal for Hakim Ziyech over the line this summer.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who believe the player’s decision to split from his agent and manage his own affairs is a pre-cursor to a transfer.
Ziyech announced his decision to represent himself on social media last night, insisting he will be doing his own transfer negotiations from here on out.
That ‘usually precedes’ a change in clubs, according to Gazzetta, and Milan are one of the clubs who are interested in him.
They will now have to ‘sit down’ with the forward if they want to get a deal over the line, particularly as his wage demands are ‘out of the Rossoneri’s reach’ for the time being.
He is a player who is ‘very much liked’, though, and should be kept in mind as the Serie A champions look to strengthen.
He’s seen as someone who can ‘guarantee the quality leap’ that the Italians want, although their first choice is currently Charles de Ketelaere.
Ziyech wants a move away from Chelsea so he can enjoy a ‘leading role’ at a new club, and the Blues have ‘lowered their demands’ to make a deal possible.
AC Milan have a good relationship with Chelsea after recent deals for Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud, something which has made them a ‘privileged interlocutor.’
Thus it could be possible for them to work out a deal, although they will still need to hold talks with Ziyech, who now represents himself, about his wage demands.
