Valencia have confirmed there’s some sort of buying option at the end of Eliaquim Mangala’s loan deal. The French defender arrived at Valencia at the end of the summer transfer window, as the club managed to assemble a rather impressive defence on the cheap.
On transfer deadline day, Valencia were able to announce the signings of both Mangala and Ezequiel Garay, the latter on a permanent deal. The Spanish club have arguably managed to improve their defence, at the same time as making a big profit on sales.
Mangala’s move may also turn out to be permanent, and Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch is quoted by Super Deporte as saying: “It’s an assignment with purchase option, hopefully he’ll do well, feel happy and want to stay with us. We won’t communicate the figures, it’s a private aspect.”
There’s every chance Mangala and Garay can form one of the best central defensive partnerships in Spain this season, as long as they can get used to each other, and their new club, quickly.
