While the transfer window may be closed, Everton have remained busy moving players on from Goodison Park.

The latest of those was Fraser Hornby, who the Toffees confirmed earlier today has completed a loan move to KV Kortrijk.

The Scottish youngster impressed for Everton U23’s last season and has been linked with a move to the Belgian side throughout the summer, with it even reported he had spoken to their manager about the move.

That’s now completed, with Everton confirming that he will spend this season on loan with the Jupiler Pro League side.

Their report made no mention of a fee, or whether the loan move included a purchase option at the end of it.

Kortrijk, however, provided more details in their announcement and say the deal for the 19-year-old does include a purchase option at the end of it.

There’s no mention of a price, just that they have the opportunity to turn the move into a permanent one.

That’s a little surprising, given that Hornby has featured in pre-season for Everton this year and scored six goals in the double-winning U23 side last season.

He’s well thought of by Everton and seen as a promising youngster, so the inclusion of an option to buy could be a bit of a shock for Everton fans, who are always keen to see youngsters make the step up into the first team.
