Torino have confirmed via their official website Leeds United have an option of making Pontus Jansson’s move permanent. The Sweden international today joined the Championship side on loan for the season.

In the last few hours it’s been confirmed Jansson has become Leeds United’s 10th signing this summer after he passed his medical yesterday. Jansson had become surplus to requirements at Torino following the appointment of Sinisa Mihajlovic as the Serie A side’s new coach this summer.

The Serbian this week brought in Leandro Castan from AS Roma, which enabled Jansson to leave Italy and join Leeds United.

Torino have wished the player success in his move to England, which they’ve revealed can become permanent, but the Italain side haven’t stated when Leeds United will able to exercise their right of redemption for the player.

Jansson spent two seasons in Turin, but never managed to hold down a regular place in the team. However, despite his lack of games he was still selected for Sweden for the Euros this summer, but never made an appearance.
