Yet to reveal where he will go once his contract with Chelsea runs out, Pedro should do so soon.
At least, that’s what Corriere dello Sport are reporting on Wednesday, explaining the player’s decision is just around the corner, and there’s hope it will be AS Roma.
The Italian newspaper state the veteran forward has a number of offers at his disposal, ranging from the MLS to Real Betis, but it’s the Serie A side that could still offer him a big ‘stage’ to continue to showcase his ability at a high level.
Regardless of whether Roma play in the Champions League or the Europa League, he would still be able to play at a high level, and would also hopefully reunite with a former teammate.
That’s Davide Zappacosta, who spent the current season on loan with the Italian club, albeit most of it being in rehabilitation after damaging his cruciate knee ligament early on the in the campaign.
Corriere explain Pedro and the right-back ‘have remained in touch’ and describe them as friends, hoping the former Torino star has spoken to the Spaniard about life in Rome.
Zappacosta is still optimistic his time with the Serie A side gets extended by another year via a new loan, which could see him enjoy more time with Pedro.
As for Roma in all this, they are described as ‘confident’ in their chances of landing the Spanish winger.
