Flamengo are confident that Everton intend to sign Charly Alcaraz on a permanent basis in the summer, even if a purchase clause is not activated in his loan deal.

That’s according to journalist Fabrício Lopes via Bolavip Brasil, who reports that Alcaraz is expected to stay at Everton long-term.

The Argentine midfielder joined Everton on loan from Flamengo at the end of the January transfer window.

The deal, though, includes a clause which will make the move a permanent one for around £15m if he starts six games between now and the end of the season.

It is early days for the midfielder at Goodison Park so far and he’s only made substitute appearances to date, featuring from the bench against Bournemouth and then Liverpool.

It was explained this week that was somewhat bad news for Flamengo as only appearances as a starter for Everton count towards the six that will activate the permanent purchase clause.

Bolavip, though, report that Flamengo are not unconcerned. They report, via Lopes, that the Brazilian club believe that Alcaraz will not be returning from Everton.

They’re information is that despite a lack of minutes so far, the midfielder is ‘convincing and showing his value’ and all indications are Everton will buy him either way. They may, though, try to negotiate the terms of the deal.

It’ll all depend on what Everton can do in the summer and what their finances will allow, but Flamengo are confident that even if the mandatory clause isn’t activated, the Toffees intend to buy.
