Italian side Torino are ‘on a collision course’ with West Ham United over midfielder Nikola Vlasic as the Hammers refuse to lower their demands for the player.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who the issue of the player’s move this summer has become a ‘thorny’ one for all involved.
Vlasic spent last season on loan with Torino and proved to be a massive hit, starring under manager Ivan Jurić and becoming a firm fan favourite.
They had an option to sign him permanently but allowed this to expire, instead believing they could negotiate a lower fee with West Ham for a permanent transfer this summer.
That is yet to happen, though, as the Hammers have stuck solidly to a €13m asking price that Torino cannot afford unless they sell defender Perr Schuurs.
Tuttosport cover the situation today, stating that Vlasic is ‘on a collision course’ with West Ham alongside Torino as the Hammers have ‘stiffened’ on their demand for €13m.
That was the value of the purchase clause in the previous loan deal, and it seems they don’t intend to move from it.
That’s despite Vlasic having ‘repeatedly reiterated’ that he has no intention of returning to the club and is only interested in returning to Torino, to whom he has become ‘inextricably linked’.
His stance is clear but West Ham are unmoved, waiting for Torino to offer the right price, something they can’t do until Schuurs moves on.
