AS Roma seem to have stepped up their interest in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.
A report from Calcio Mercato today writes that the Giallorossi are ‘closing’ in for the 28-year-old, as José Mourinho wants to work with him once again.
The outlet brings the ‘negotiation details’ for this transfer, claiming the player would move on a loan with an option to buy set at €8m.
According to the website, Roma are ‘about to close’ the deal with Manchester United. They point out the ‘signals’ arrived from the Ivorian player, who liked Roma’s posts on Instagram.
With only seven appearances made last season, the player is unlikely to get more chances with the arrival of Erik ten Hag, especially after the arrival of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.
In the past few days, the Serie A side had also been linked to Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof. With them looking for a new-centre back, and the Red Devils having too many players for that position, Mourinho’s old club became an obvious place to shop this summer.
