Trabzonspor are ‘close’ to an agreement with Aston Villa over a €3m deal for forward Trezeguet.
That’s according to Fanatik, who provide another update on the potential deal after reports regarding a move yesterday.
We covered a report from Turkey yesterday that detailed how the Turkish side were keen on Trezeguet as a replacement for Anthony Nwakaeme.
That detailed the contract they had offered the 27-year-old and hinted a deal could be close; something Fanatik back up today.
They say that Trabzonspor have ‘opened the mouth of the purse’ for Trezeguet after initially being shocked by his high wage demands.
They’ve now made a new offer to try and satisfy his wishes, offering him the highest salary in the team at €2.2m per year.
That figure is made up of a base fee of €1.5m and €700,000 in bonuses, which would make Trezeguet the highest-paid player in the squad alongside Marek Hamsik.
They’re now waiting for a response from the Aston Villa man, but there is a feeling that this offer could be enough to convince Trezeguet to return to Turkey.
Trabzonspor still need to find an agreement with Aston Villa, but there is optimism on that front, too, with them ‘close’ to a €3m deal.
