Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumaré is fascinated at the idea of ending his loan at Sevilla to move to Napoli instead, but all three clubs need to work on an agreement.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, relayed by Calcio Napoli 24, who cover the situation today after reports yesterday first linked Napoli with a move for the midfielder.
Soumaré is currently on loan at Sevilla, having joined them on loan from Leicester in the summer following their relegation from the Premier League.
He had hoped to be a regular for the Spanish side but that has not proven to be the case, with him struggling to get game time and only featuring in 55% of the available minutes in the league so far.
Napoli are reportedly looking to take advantage of that, with a report yesterday indicating they were looking at a possible deal for the Leicester man as they hope to bolster their midfield this month.
Gazzetta now follow that up, explaining that Napoli have made their first approaches and the idea of the move ‘fascinates’ the Leicester midfielder.
The Italian side are therefore progressing with the move but need to convince Sevilla to let him leave early and then talk to Leicester about another loan deal.
Those discussions would also have to include negotiations over the right to buy that the Foxes included in the deal with Sevilla, which is set at €15m. It’s not clear if they’d take that up or look to negotiate it downwards.
Either way, the Italia side have ‘clear ideas’ about a move for the Leicester man and now ‘need to accelerate’ to try and get an agreement secured at some point this month.
