Juventus have made moves to bring Paul Pogba back from Manchester United, but the ‘question of capital gains’ has ‘blocked everything’.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say the Manchester United midfielder is a ‘dream’ signing for the Italian giants once again.
The website explains that the club and fans alike have ‘dreamed of a super comeback’ for Pogba, who was the star of the show in Turin during his time there.
They’ve remained a big fan of his and CM.it say that Juventus’ managers were planning for the player to return in a surprise move in the January transfer window.
His agent Mino Raiola is the ‘key figure’ in their efforts and, in the last few hours, has even held talks with those in charge at Juve to ‘take stock’ of the situation in a face-to-face setting.
There is a major problem, though, and that is the investigation into the capital gains scandal that is currently enveloping the club.
Juventus are in hot water over several deals in the last few years, with accusations that they and several of their directors have worked the accounts on transfers.
It’s being investigated by the FIGC, and that issue has ‘held back the initiative’ for Pogba at this moment in time.
Regardless of that, though, they would like to try for Pogba and are hoping that if they can get some good sales in January, they can find the resources to move for the Manchester United man and at least cover some of his wages.
Everything is being held back by the investigations into the club, though, with things ‘postponed’, presumably until the situation becomes a little clearer.
