It appears that Chelsea have overcome the competition when it comes to trying to sign Cesare Casadei from Inter.
The Blues were reportedly fighting against the likes of OGC Nice and Sassuolo for the teenager’s signing, but Corriere dello Sport’s article on Monday doesn’t mention them, only naming Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Not only that, but it appears that there is a desire from the Serie A club’s end to get a deal over the line with Chelsea, as with his sale and that of Andrea Pinamonti, it could be possible ‘to postpone the farewell of one of the top players’ at the club.
The striker has already completed his move to Sassuolo, which is why Inter are now solely focusing on the talks with the London side.
Corriere explain that ‘from tomorrow onwards, Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin will try and conclude the sale of Casadei to Chelsea’.
The idea was to gather €35m from the sales of Pinamonti and the midfielder, and with the former set to cost Sassuolo €20m, the belief is the Blues will fork out €15m for the latter.
That remains to be seen, but it was made clear late last week that Chelsea were prepared to raise their offer for the player.
