Coming out of nowhere, the story of Granit Xhaka transferring to AS Roma from Arsenal is still a thing.
The Switzerland international appears to be open to a move away from the Emirates, and the idea of working with José Mourinho has its appeals.
That being said, Arsenal aren’t going to let him go for cheap, and that is what is holding up the negotiations.
Corriere dello Sport have a short article on the matter, explaining that while the English press are optimistic of a deal getting done, the truth is a bit different.
They explain the ‘agreement with Arsenal still needs to be settled’, and with the Euros starting on Friday, ‘it’s difficult for the negotiations to be concluded’.
That being said, the work is still getting done, and Corriere della Sera explain Tiago Pinto, the man in charge of transfer at AS Roma, wants to get it done ‘before the start of the competition’.
This means the next few days are crucial, and we’ll have to see if Arsenal will accept what the Serie A club have to offer for Xhaka.
