Sporx have reported on comments made by Besiktas president Fikret Orman over the future of defender Pepe.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the past week and Orman has stated he’ll help the player if wants to move in this transfer window.
Orman said: “If Pepe wants to leave the club then we can talk about it. We can give him a helping hand if he wants to leave. We did not sign him for just a year. If Pepe came to me and said he wants to leave, but we haven’t spoken.”
It’s recently been claimed the Besiktas central defender has been drawing attention from Wolves after reports emerged from Turkey. Wolves are said to be looking to offer €7m for Pepe and the former Real Madrid player could be interested in the move to the Premier League club.
Pepe still has a year left on his contract, but Besiktas may look to offload him in this window due to the €6m net he’s set to receive in the next 12 months from the Istanbul club. This includes the player’s salary and the remainder of his signing on fee.
