OFK chairman Daniel Kindberg has told the Swedish media he understands why Graham Potter wants to take the vacant Swansea City manager’s job.
Until today Kindberg has tried to play down Swansea City’s links with his manager, but it seems he’s now admitted defeat over the former Stoke City player.
Speaking to Osdsport, Kindberg was asked about Potter joining Swansea: “What I’ll miss most is the laughs, the conversations, the looks and the hugs after the big victories. I know Graham is an ambitious coach. and when this appeared from Swansea, I realised it was attractive.”
The OFK chief was also asked if he felt bitter Potter was heading to the Liberty Stadium: “No, no such feelings. I understood the challenge and I understood Graham’s ambition. I felt the project was intended for Graham. But I’m sure Graham’s and OFK’s roads will be crossed in the future.”
Earlier today it was reported Potter has agreed personal terms with the Championship side after weeks of talks.
It’s also been revealed a compensation package has been agreed with OFK and his arrival should be officially announced this week.
Potter has worked wonders since becoming the OFK boss and this was brought to the attention of other clubs when he guided the Swedish side to the knockout stages of the Europa League last season.
