Following the departure of Fabio Paratici, Tottenham had been looking for both a new manager and a new director of football.
They filled the first gap on Tuesday when they appointed Ange Postecoglou from Celtic, but they still need someone to be in charge of transfers.
That’s where Tiago Pinto could come in, with the Portuguese chief, currently at AS Roma, said to be a target for Tottenham, according to Leggo, relayed by Forza Roma.
This isn’t the first time he has been linked, with a report back towards the end of May stating he was the man identified by Spurs to take over from Paratici.
Well, this is backed up on Wednesday, as Leggo report the chief is ‘close to saying goodbye’ to AS Roma, where he would be replaced by Frederic Massara, who recently left AC Milan, ‘as early as next week’.
In this merry-go-round, it points out that Pinto is ‘targeted by some Premier League clubs’, with Tottenham the only one named.
Therefore, there’s a chance Daniel Levy could finally wrap up the successors of Antonio Conte and Paratici in the space of a week or so.
