Over the last two days, we have covered claims made by Italian journalist Ciro Venerato that Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira is the ‘favourite’ transfer target for Napoli in the winter market.
Gazzetta dello Sport carried a report on Tuesday saying the Serie A side ‘seem’ to like the midfielder’s teammate Sead Kolašinac, while their league rivals AS Roma are also interested in the defender.
Another report from the same newspaper provides more information on the Naples club’s interest in the Uruguay international and the left-back.
The Italian club’s new manager Gennaro Gattuso’s first request is for his side to bring in a midfielder in January and he has set sights on the north London club’s player.
It’s claimed Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is in ‘contact’ with the Premier League side for Torreira and their idea is to take him on loan (for €3m) with an obligation to make the deal permanent for €27m.
Gazzetta states the operation isn’t simple, but Napoli are trying to accomplish a ‘double shot’ with Arsenal, involving Torreira and Kolašinac.
The report adds Giuntoli is also ‘interested’ in the left-back.
