Fenerbahce are in the market for a defensive midfielder this summer and are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Victor Wanyama, say Sabah.

The former Southampton player could leave the club this summer after the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon earlier in this transfer window.

After parting ways with Mehmet Topal earlier this summer, the Turkish side are looking to sign an experienced midfielder, with the Tottenham man said to be an option.

Marseille’s Luis Gustavo is the Super Lig side’s first choice and talks with the French club are ongoing. However, Sabah say Wanyama is an alternative if they fail to bring in the former Brazil international.

Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli is said to be hoping to sign Wanyama using his contacts with Tottenham, having worked with the London club a few years ago.

It’s reported Tottenham are looking to get €10m for the 28 year old and talks between the two clubs are set to continue in the coming days.

Wanyama’s contract with Tottenham will expire at the end of June 2021.
