Following comments made by Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu there are claims in the Turkish media Uğurcan Cakır could be sold during the next transfer window.
Liverpool have been frequently linked with the 23 year old goalkeeper over the past several months and again the Reds’ interest in the youngster has been reported by Fotospor.
The Turkish website have reported on comments made by Agaoglu when he said they may need to sell in the summer: “Trabzonspor has to sell one player every year. They have to put 10-20 million in player sales every year. Otherwise, it is not possible to survive economically.”
With Cakir being tracked by a number of clubs, including Liverpool, this has been interpreted by Fotospor as Cakir preparing to offload the player at the end of the season.
Fotospor say several sides are interested and ‘active’, ‘especially Liverpool’.
There were claims during the last transfer window that Liverpool made an offer for the Turkey international, with the intention to bring him to Anfield this summer.
Cakir has been linked with Sheffield United in recent weeks following reports they too tabled a bid for him. Southampton and Everton have also been showing an interest according to the Turkish press.
The keeper is contracted to Trabzonspor until June 2023.
