After missing out on Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah, Galatasaray have turned their attention to Chelsea defender Baba Rahman, claim Turkey’s Star.
The Turkish newspaper says Galatasaray CEO Cenk Ergun will fly to England tomorrow, and Chelsea fullback Rahman is on his agenda.
Asamoah remained with Juventus despite interest from Galatasaray towards the end of the window, because the Serie A champions couldn’t bring in a replacement for the Ghana international. Galatasaray are hoping Asamoah’s desire to join Galatasaray will play into their hands next summer when the Juventus player is out of contract.
Star say Galatasaray are now looking for a short term solution and Chelsea’s Rahman is on the radar of the Turkish giants. Galatasaray are currently short of a left back, and manger Igor Tudor has had to use right back Martin Linnes during the opening three games of the season.
It seems the Rahman isn’t in the plans of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, and Galatasaray could look to land the defender before the Turkish window closes on Friday.
Chelsea loaned Baba to Bundesliga side Schalke last season, where the player made 21 appearances.
