Udinese sporting director Nereo Bonato believes Jakub Jankto will eventually sign for a big club. The 21-year-old has impressed for the Serie A side this season, and subsequently has been linked with a move to Leicester City in recent months.
In an interview with Calcioline, Bonato was asked about Jankto’s future and whether his prized asset would leave the club. The Udinese director said what the young Czech has achieved in recent seasons has been great for the player, and now he’s showing this for Udinese. Bonato went on to say with the player’s credentials he expects him one day to play for a top club.
“What’s the future for Jankto? He raised his profile in the youth team of Udinese, and did well on loan at Ascoli last season. Now he’s highlighting this with us. With his profile he will be considered by the big clubs,” said the Udinese chief on the Leicester City target.
Last September we covered reports from Italy that Leicester City were weighing up a move for 20-year-old Jankto. Udinese value the Czech Republic international at £8m, but are still keen to extend the player’s current contract.
The Serie A side want to extend Jankto’s contract until June 2020, but they will have to act quickly with Leicester City and other Premier League side taking an interest. West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Arsenal have all been linked with the player this season.
