Aksam report Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz has met with Manchester United officials regarding the Turkish club’s highly rated central defender Ozan Kabak.

The 18 year old has been linked with the club in recent weeks following claims the Premier League club have been monitoring the youngster, which followed on from claims of Manchester City interest.

According to Aksam, Galatasaray are looking to let Kabak leave for €20m and the Istanbul club are hoping they can sell the youngster in order to reinvest in their squad.

Manchester United are likely to be in the market for a central defender in the next transfer window following their problems at the back this season.

It was well documented in the last window Jose Mourinho wanted to bring in a defender, but the English side couldn’t land any of their reported targets.

Kabak is currently seen as a one for the future but the player has already nailed a place down in the Galatasaray starting eleven.

The 18-year old is under contract with the Super Lig club until June 2020.

Claims regarding Kabak have been flying between the English and Turkish media, and whilst Manchester United should be looking for a central defender, a youngster from the Turkish league may not be high up Jose Mourinho’s list.

However, that doesn’t mean Galatasaray won’t be making efforts, so the claim of a meeting could have something behind it.

For any club interested, the €20m deal seems relatively easy to do.
