NAC Breda chairman Joost Gielen has told the Dutch media they still have an ongoing relationship with Manchester City despite not bringing in any player on loan from the Premier League club in the last window.
In previous transfer windows a number of Manchester City youngster have been sent to the Dutch club on loan to get first team experience.
Speaking to Voetbal International, Gielen was asked about NAC Breda’s cooperation with Manchester City: “We have an ongoing contract, the intention is to continue. I still feel a warm bond; the relationship is good. We already knew that there would be no new players from City in the winter break. Hans Smulders already knew that.”
In 2017 it was confirmed NAC Breda and Manchester City had a formed a partnership, which would allow the Premier League club to send players on loan to the Dutch side. The deal will be for a period of five years, and the agreement gives a more formal basis to the relationship.
Manchester City also collaborate with NAC Breda and share knowledge on matters such as scouting, creating a culture of mutual expertise. A City delegation travelled to the Netherlands this week.
However, with no players arriving from the Premier League champions last month and the sacking of sporting director Hans Mulders there have been question marks over the relationship.
