Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has spoken to Anadolu Agency, as covered Milliyet and confirmed RB Leipzig are heavily interested in signing Alexander Sörloth, who’s currently on loan from Crystal Palace.
Speaking about the Norwegian striker, Agaoglu said Leipzig are interested in signing Sörloth: “We are receiving serious interest for two of our players, Ugurcan Cakir and Alexander Sörloth.
“I have to say, RB Leipzig are very insistent on Sörloth. But the offers we received are way below our valuations and we are not intended to say yes to those offers.”
Sörloth’s situation is complicated as Trabzonspor could make his move permanent by activating his redemption clause, which is reportedly set at €6.5m. There have been reports that if they do this, the player will then automatically have a €9.5m exit clause.
However, given RB Leipzig are interested in the Norway international, Crystal Palace are keen to have transfer discussions with the German club.
After arriving from Selhurst Park, Sörloth has been a revelation for the Black Sea club, helping them to their first piece of silverware in ten years.
Sörloth scored 33 goals for Trabzonspor in all competitions last season and is under contract with Crystal Palace until June 2022.
