PSV Eindhoven chief John de Jong has admitted the chance of Denzel Dumfries leaving this summer is ‘very high’ as he seemingly negotiates a move to Everton.
The full-back has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park since before the Euros, where he was a star in the Netherlands’ run to the knockout stages.
Their interest has only been firmed up by those performances, and it’s believed they are now pushing hard to get a deal over the line.
Indeed, reports yesterday indicated that Dumfries was set to meet with Everton this week to discuss a move, having been given permission by PSV to talk to other clubs this summer.
So far, it’s been made clear that there is yet to be a concrete offer for him from either Everton or his other suitors, such as Inter Milan.
And De Jong has confirmed that is the case but made it clear that a move is looking likely to happen for both Dumfries and Donyell Malen.
“We are being kept informed by Mino Raiola, their manager,” he told Voetbal International.
“They know what we want, and we have given these players the space to start talking to interested clubs. If they have an agreement, then the club in question will report to us.
“At the moment, we haven’t received a single concrete offer.
“But that can, of course, change very quickly. If they have not yet come to an agreement, then Donyell and Denzel will report to us again on 18 July. But the chance that they both go is, of course, very high.”
