Torino’s efforts to re-sign Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet are advancing, with the Italian side maintaining contact since the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Toro News, who present the transfer as very much one in the pipeline.
They explain that the January transfer window could hold ‘big surprises’ for Torino fans and the team itself as manager Ivan Juric is ‘working on the possibility’ of signing Praet from Leicester.
He believes that Praet’s arrival could prove to be an excellent solution and would help to cover a potential exit for Sasa Lukic, which has already been reported.
They say that Torino chief Davide Vagnati has ‘already contacted’ his counterparts in Leicester and ‘reopened the talk’ about a deal, which is already ‘very advanced’.
The Serie A side have proposed a new loan deal but unlike last year’s deal this would include a buy back obligation under certain conditions.
The amount of that obligation is yet to be leaked but should not exceed €6-7m given his contract at the King Power Stadium expires in 2024.
The Foxes, therefore, are seen as having little wiggle room in terms of negotiations, as they face the player entering the final year of his deal in the summer and his value reducing further.
That has seemingly given Torino belief they can get a deal done in January and talks are already underway to try and get Praet back to the club as soon as possible.
