Torino director of football David Vagnati has admitted they are “evaluating” a move for West Ham United midfielder Nikola Vlasic this summer.
Vagnati has been speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport about his plans for the summer transfer window, which are believed to be centred around Vlasic.
He spent last season on loan at the Italian club, establishing himself as a key player under manager Ivan Jurić across the campaign.
The Italian side are keen on a permanent move for him but let an option expire, instead believing they could negotiate a lower figure with West Ham.
That is something they have not been able to do, though, with the Hammers instead insisting that Torino pay the €13m they previously agreed.
Negotiations have been ongoing for weeks, with it explained that Vlasic was set for a clash with those in charge at the London Stadium over a lack of progress on the transfer.
Vagnati has now commented on the Croatian, admitting they are trying to work out a deal that suits all parties.
“We are evaluating an attacking midfielder and another winger,” he said.
“We need calm, however, because the transfer market is long. Vlasic is a player we are evaluating.”
