Yosuke Ideguchi to Leeds United is continuing to build in both the English and Japanese media, with the latter providing a slightly calmer take on the whole thing.
Gamba Osaka’s season ends in December, which makes a January move to Leeds United fit in well with timing.
Nikkan Sports explain it’s more than simply rumours, with Gamba Osaka’s chairman Takashi Yamauchi quoted as saying: “The offer is definitely coming.”
Whilst that may be accepted, Nikkan, like several other Japanese outlets, point out how difficult a work permit would be for 21 year old Ideguchi to move to Leeds United.
Therefore, the possibility of signing for Leeds, but moving to another country first, is again presented. Sport Witness covered Ideguchi’s work permit situation earlier (you can read that here) and explained it brings Cultural Leonesa to the forefront again.
The Aspire owned club have connections with Leeds United, and already have Ouasim Bouy on loan. Aspire’s connections at Leeds, starting with Ivan Bravo and potentially set to grow, would help, with the Qatari sports group also reaching out into Japan on more than one occasion.
