With Rafael Leão yet to renew at Milan, there is a growing concern that he could leave in the summer, which is why the Serie A side have been linked with Allan Saint-Maximin.
The Newcastle United star has struggled a bit more for form this season under Eddie Howe, mostly due to injuries, and there was a lot of talk in January about a potential move from the Serie A side.
His entourage even admitted to some exchanges over the last transfer window, but the Frenchman stayed in Newcastle, where he will help his club finish as high up the Premier League table as possible.
What happens after that remains to be seen, but the general belief is that Milan could return for the 25-year-old if they are forced to let Leão go.
That’s according to Niccolò Ceccarini, who wrote an editorial on TuttoMercatoWeb over the weekend, where he discussed various topics, including the future of the Portugal international.
Speaking about the contractual situation and a potential transfer away from Italy, he explained that Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are ‘always on the move and evaluating ideas in case everything gets further complicated’.
This is where he states that ‘among these are certainly Saint-Maximin’, who currently plays for Newcastle, as well as Noa Lang, contracted to Club Brugge.
Therefore, this doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
