One of the growing stories in Belgium at the moment concerns the future of Percy Tau, who spent last season on loan at Club Brugge from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Unable to get a work permit to feature for the Seagulls, the South Africa international is being sent around the European country in hope he gathers enough points to one day be registered at the Amex.
He hasn’t got there yet, which is why there has been talk of him returning to the Jupiler Pro League, this time with Anderlecht.
Despite a desire from all parties to make the move happen, Le Soir are reporting that Vincent Kompany’s side are being ‘very cautious’ about the situation, and will not ‘communicate’ until ‘all the documents are signed’.
It’s said talks took place again on Wednesday, but they ‘didn’t manage to reach a point for the move to be made official’.
It appears to be heading in the right direction, but with a deal as complicated as this one, it seems fair for Anderlecht to make sure all is in order before getting too excited about acquiring the player.
As for Brighton, getting Pau to play regularly is key, so there will be hope for an agreement to happen in the foreseeable future.
