West Ham United’s Gianluca Scamacca has been linked with a move back to Serie A in the summer, a year after he joined them from Sassuolo.
On Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport explained Inter Milan could be an option for the Italy international, who has set his sights on returning to his country.
Sport Mediaset have a report that provides additional details on the Serie A side’s interest in the West Ham forward.
Edin Džeko and Romelu Lukaku [on loan from Chelsea] are currently among the strikers at the San Siro and they have deals until June. The Bosnian’s renewal talks don’t seem to be progressing well at the moment.
If Džeko, who has a desire to play in MLS, decides to leave Inter, they could look at the West Ham forward. It’s for this reason they are ‘carefully following the situation’ of the 24-year-old.
Inter tried signing Scamacca when he was at Sassuolo and he’s now back on their agenda.
The player has made two substitute appearances after recovering from a knee injury last month. His situation at West Ham ‘isn’t exactly the best’ from the national team point of view and he must play regularly to be called up for Italy.
Due to these factors, Scamacca has taken into consideration the opportunity to return to Serie A and is evaluating the offers.
