In the past few days, the Brazilian media has been bringing many reports about Internacional’s intention to sign Gustavo Scarpa from Nottingham Forest.

It’s been said the Colorado have been in talks with the player for a couple of weeks, and have been working hard to convince him to accept the move.

As journalist Jorge Nicola today shares an update on Scarpa’s situation, he claims the player may indeed be on the verge of leaving Nottingham Forest on a permanent move.

It’s explained that even though the midfielder turned down a first offer from Internacional, they improved their bid and could sign him ‘in the coming days’.

Even though the player has recently been linked to São Paulo, Nicola spoke to some of his sources at the Tricolor who dismissed that possibility.

Back at the weekend, the very same journalist had claimed that Internacional offered €4m for Scarpa, and that was accepted by Nottingham Forest.

So it seems this new offer is just regarding the player’s salary and signing bonuses.

The midfielder is currently loaned by the Tricky Trees to Olympiakos, but the clubs are apparently not against cutting short his spell there to help Nottingham Forest make a bit of easy money from a free transfer that simply didn’t work out.
