AS Roma have identified Arsenal’s Sead Kolašinac as a potential candidate to replace Aleksandar Kolarov, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
It’s claimed the former Manchester City fullback is ‘one step away’ from joining Inter Milan, and the Giallorossi had already started searching for his successor in recent weeks.
The Gunners left-back’s name has emerged as a target after the Serie A side ruled out a few other options.
According to the report, the relationship between the Serie A side and the north London club is ‘excellent’ because of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s loan move to Roma last season.
In addition to this, the two clubs are also in negotiations for an exchange deal involving Amadou Diawara and Lucas Torreira.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international’s contract at Emirates lasts until 2022, and he earns around €3m net per season. Roma are of the belief they can sign him for ‘no more than €5-6m’.
The outlet also adds the Arsenal player’s compatriot, Edin Džeko, is the ‘main sponsor’ for his arrival at the club, even though his own future at Roma remains uncertain.
Gazzetta explain Kolašinac has long wanted to play in Serie A, and a move to Stadio Olimpico can help him fulfil it.
