Slowly collecting a bunch of ex-Premier League players at AS Roma, José Mourinho could be adding another to the list in Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha.
The story started late last week, with claims the player was offered to the Serie A side, but there was never any mention of a price.
Thankfully, Corriere della Sera’s Rome edition give us some indication of where things stand in their Monday edition.
Looking at the transfer work left to do at AS Roma, the newspaper back up the idea that the ‘forward of Crystal Palace has been offered’ to the Italians.
As things stand, ‘his valuation is €25m’, but Mourinho and co. aren’t prepared to pay that much for the former Manchester United player.
Instead, Roma ‘can go up to €15m plus a young player’, with the outlet speculating that man could be Felix Afena-Gyan, who only just renewed his contract with the Serie A club on July 6th until 2026.
With 17 league appearances to his name and two goals, the young Ghana international, who turns 20 in January, certainly is a work in progress, but could be appealing to Patrick Vieira if he sees talent in him.
On the flip side, they would be losing Zaha, who scored 14 goals in 33 Premier League games last season for Crystal Palace.
It all depends what the manager’s plans are going forward, really.
